Who we are
DeWinter is a fashion studio that edits and designs collections for fashion brands. We decide what happens to the personal information you give us through this site. You can reach us about anything on this page at hello@dewinteragency.com.
The short version
- We collect only what you choose to send us, and use it to reply to you and to do the work you book.
- This site has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
- If you sign up for our emails, you get what the form promises and can leave in one click.
- We never sell your information or share it for marketing.
- We publish nothing you send us unless you say yes, in writing or by ticking the box on the form. (The Teardowns discuss collections brands have already released; see below.)
What we collect, and why
When you use the contact form
Your name, email, your brand and where we can see it, what you’re interested in, what you tell us about your collection, where you are in the process, and how you heard about us. We use it to reply, to recommend a service, and to keep a record of the conversation.
When you fill in the Designer’s Questionnaire
Everything you choose to answer: your name and email, your brand, how it is owned and funded, where it is based, how long it has run, your product and customer, your competitors, where you sell and produce, a band for your annual sales, your goals and what you need help with. We use it to understand your brand and recommend the right next step. Your answers are confidential.
When you book and pay
You can request a booking through the form on our booking page (your name, email, brand, what’s coming up, and times that suit you), or book directly through Calendly where it’s offered. Payments run through Stripe or PayPal. We receive your name, email, the time agreed, your answers to the booking questions and a confirmation that you paid. We never see or store your card details; the payment provider handles them.
When you work with us
The files and information you share for a service, such as style lists, sketches, sell-through figures and target prices, and the documents we write for you. We use them only for your work.
When you sign up for our emails
Your email address. Our email service, [email service], keeps the list and sends the emails: five short emails over two weeks, then only new Teardowns. We ask you to confirm by email before anything is sent. We don’t track whether you open our emails or click their links. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
When you visit the site
Like every website, the company that hosts it keeps short technical logs: your IP address, browser, the pages requested and when. They are used to run and protect the site. The site’s fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page opens.
The site remembers, in your own browser, whether you’ve closed or used the email sign-up box, so it doesn’t ask again. That note stays on your device and is never sent to us; clearing your browser’s site data removes it.
Publishing your Scan
If you tick the box on the form, we may publish the before-and-after of your Sample Waste Scan with your brand’s name removed. It is optional, and you can withdraw it at any time by writing to us: before publication we won’t publish it, and after publication we take it down.
The Teardowns and our research
The Teardowns discuss collections that brands have already released, using public information. When we look for brands we might help, we use public sources such as brand websites and press, and we record facts about the brand, not personal details about people.
Our legal grounds
Where data protection law asks for a reason, ours are: to take steps you asked for and to deliver the work you booked; our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries, keeping business records and running a safe website; your consent, where we ask for it (such as publishing your Scan, or sending you our emails), which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligations such as keeping financial records.
Who else handles your information
Only the services that make the site and the work possible, each bound by its own privacy terms:
- Our website host, which also receives form submissions (or a form service such as Formspree), including its spam filter (on Netlify, Akismet).
- Calendly, for bookings.
- Stripe or PayPal, for payments.
- Our email provider, for replies.
- [email service], for the emails you sign up to.
- Google Fonts, for the typefaces on this site.
Some of these providers process data in other countries than yours. Where that happens, they rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and questionnaires that don’t lead to work: 12 months, then deleted.
- Your email address on our list: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only what’s needed to make sure you’re never emailed again.
- Client records, invoices and payments: as long as we work together, and then as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually six years).
- Work you shared with us: until the work is finished and the walkthrough call is done, plus 12 months in case you have questions, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, send it to you or another service in a usable format, or stop using it where we rely on legitimate interest or consent. Write to hello@dewinteragency.com; we reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we handled your information, you can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Keeping it safe
The site runs over an encrypted connection, the forms have spam protection, and what you send is read only by DeWinter and the services listed above, which handle it for us. No method is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect small, and access to it limited.
Children
Our services are for businesses. This site is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant and we hold your email, we tell you.
